All day long timelapse with Leica Q!

Dummy battery.

Hello everyone,

Today I would like to share with you how I shoot an all-day timelapse using a Leica Q.
I was looking for a new battery on amazon when I tried to search by the battery name: BP-DC12.

To my surprise, I forgot the battery was manufactured by Panasonic. I also found out it was not Leica exclusive, but it is being used in other Panasonic cameras such as Lumix.

Then it struck me: because it is a universal battery there might be a change a third party manufactured made an AC wall adapter for some Lumix cameras.
There is.. Two version actually.

It is also known as a dummy battery adapter or pack. The great thing about it is that it also works with external battery packs, the one you might be already using with for your phone.

With my Anker 13000 PowerCore, I was able to shoot all day with only one LED light going off.

In theory, using this power bank, you could shoot with a Leica Q up 10 times more than with the original battery, which is rated for 1200mAh

Even if on the product page a Leica Q it is not listed in the compatibility cameras, this dummy battery adapter works perfectly it and also with a Leica CL.
I tested them both with no problem.

Last but not least, a test video below:
